Denver Center for the Performing Arts - 2025 New York Tour

Great week in NYC with awesome shows, great accommodations, good tours & food, and even better company.

We had a great time! The food was great! We met some awesome people and learned a lot. We had a small problem with the accommodations, but it was immediately taken care of and was perfect! Would love to do this trip again. 

Tuacahn - 2025 Fall New York Tour

We had a great time. Being in the middle of Times Square was really nice and made it very convenient for the different tours and plays. We thought all the different tours really added to the experience. The comradery of the other tour members added to the enjoyment. 

The itinerary was perfect. A good mix of different musicals. The sites that we saw were very interesting particularly I like Frick museum. The only drawback was the hotel although I should’ve spoken up.
I was on the 3 rd floor. It was very dated and noisy.

The shows and the tours we took in New York were great. There were many interesting people in our group and we enjoyed conversing with them. The tour guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. The hotel was convenient to Times Square, several of the theaters and many restaurants. Wish we had been able to spend more time in some of the museums. We had a fantastic time!

Very well organized trip. Schedule allowed some down time. Choices of plays ware very good. Had two excellent guest speakers. Included meals were at great restaurants. Guides (of which there were a half dozen) were very knowledgeable and personable. I expect to sign up for the equivalent tour next year!

It was great.  3 Italian dinners was probably 1 too many.  I loved everything about the trip

Well organized trip with excellent seats for all Braodway productions.  Interesting tours with skilled guides.

We had a wonderful time in New York with great shows and places to check out during the day.  The hotel was within walking distance of the theaters which made it easy to have a nice meal and then walk to the show.  Even on the nights that dinner was on our own, it worked great.  We enjoyed being able to change up a few things so we could see other shows including the Rockettes.  We can't wait to do it all again!

This was a fantastic trip. I was amazed at how much we saw during our stay in NYC. The only thing I would have cut out was the trip to the Broadway Museum. This would be good for someone who is a hardcore theatre goer but not for me and for several others who were on the tour. I loved the plays we saw and the other insights we had to the theatre business but the Broadway museum was not that interesting for me. I would have rather spent time at the Guggenheim, or the Whitney museums. The tour guides were great, especially Mike. 

Very fun. Great shows! Loved the mix of art, history, & archetechure. Guides were so knowledgeable (Mike & Hardy). A true NYC experience!! Loved the small size of our group too.

We had a great time.  Nice group of people, great tour guides.  We covered a lot of ground in one week.  Good choices of places to go and the food was great.

Old Globe - 2025 New York Tour

This was an amazing trip. The New York experience was wonderful for a native Californian. The Broadway background provided by animated, "in the business" guides was enlightening. The plays were great. The tours were fun. There was good food and interesting people on the tour  I would highly recommend this trip!

Excellent in every way - from initial sign-up to the flight home.  Break-Away Tours one of the best we've experienced!

Pittsburgh CLO - 2025 Chicago Theatre Tour

Excellent combination of theater, sightseeing and food experiences.
I really enjoyed myself and appreciated the professional guides who were so informative and helpful. I learned a lot about theater and saw many sights of New York which I had not seen before. Well done!!

This trip was really fun and the people blended together so well. We met many lovely people and hope to keep the friendship going. The musicals were good and the 45 minute readings were quite an insight into how it all comes together. The weather was also just perfect while seeing the top of the rock and walking all around. Just a few days later it was raining and flooding and miserable. The Westin is a good spot, very convenient and just right. I can recommend this trip for the care and detail put in, we felt safe and well cared for.

Everything was top notch.  It was worry free.  There were a few things that weren't my cup of tea, but a lot were, I had a fabulous time.

Absolutely  enjoyed the experience. Highlights  were the theatre  tours and plays along with second city. The food walking tour was great fun. Liked the idea of a bus pass and the hop on hop off pass. The architectural  boat tour is a must. Hotel great location


Trip was more than expected. Packed in a lot for one week. Would have included a jazz show and or blues. Pacing was good. Thank you. Ronnie terrific.

Terrific trip.  Very well organized.  Very knowledgeable professional guides were provided.  The visit to the WWII war room was exceptionally interesting.  I enjoyed learning about the music industry in SOHO.  Really enjoyed the plays:  Witness for the Prosecution, the Devil wears Prada, Oliver, and 50 1st dates (the musical).

Enjoyed the trip to Bath, particularly the visit to the Jane Austin museum.

Cinema Society - 2025 London/Bath Tour

Had a nice time and met lots of friendly people. As a single man who knew nobody - was pleasantly surprised - hotels were excellent and food delicious- the tours were done professionally and interesting 

We had a wonderful time...the trip was well organized and included so many varied sites and plays/musicals! Thanks for organizing such an excellent outing.

Seattle Theatre Group - 2025 London Tour

Trip was very organized including., printed materials, hotel check-in, airport arrival. The guides with Break away (particularly Sean) were great!  Knowledgeable, fun, professional. Coach drivers were professional and pleasant. Restaurants were good for large group, tours of theaters were great.  Group was a bit large, 20-25 would be better. 

The tour was well planned and ran smoothly even with several pivots that needed to be made for closures and other interrruptions. The guides were wonderful and the drivers top-notch.

Very well done! The guides were amazing, especially Sean and Joe (female). My only drawback is that the restaurants were exceedingly noisy. At one, the decibel level was 91 - enough that Apple Watches were warning. Theater choices were good, with the exception of Disney’s Hercules. Not sure why that was included, because it had bad reviews 6 months prior.

This trip was a whirlwind. The play selections were excellent.  It was a thrill to see the NAMT.  The daytime tour choices were great and so were the tour guides. The hotel was clean, comfortable and conveniently located.  This was my first time in New York and I felt like I was in really good hands.

We had a fantastic time on this trip.  The accommodations were great, the schedule was relaxed with pockets of downtime, & the guides were truly phenomenal.  Barry did an excellent job in his organization of the trip & I cannot speak highly enough of guides Sean, Doug, & the two Jo's.  I would definitely consider another booking with Break Away! 

I had a wonderful trip that was an exceptional experience I will remember. All requirements for a long distant trip were handled by Alex and his support staff. I didn't have to do any work on the trip. Being my first trip overseas I was glad Alex handled any requests or issues I had.
* Both hotels had excellent accommodations and service. Any issue I had was fixed within 10 minutes after I called the desk.
* Dinners were also excellent with tasty food and service. Meals for 48 tourists were served quickly, and wine was refilled before I needed to ask. Conversations with other people on the tour were enjoyable when waiting for the food to be served.
* Shows were highly entertaining and worth the long flight.
* I also was pleased the tours started at 9 am with bus transportation ready.
* Cab service was also a nice touch when needed.
* With everything taken care of by Alex and his crew, I was able to just sit back and enjoy.

Musical Theatre West - 2025 London/Dublin Tour

All in all, a very well-planned trip.  It would have been nice to have seen more theatre, since this was ostensibly a theatre tour.  Meals were nice and tours were good (although not quite enuf time for some).  tour guides were excellent.

We have some snafus with our hotels however: we were the last to be assigned rooms in both London and Dublin which cause stress and delays.  

Excellent trip and it provided me with the chance to meet some interesting people. sees some shows I would not have otherwise chosen see--2 jukebox musicals that weren't Mama Mia!--and to experience some things I had not experienced before in London, but then  I felt not including the Globe Theater as a tour feature was a detriment.  I booked tickets for my party for Twelfth Night on the night we arrived in London.  The accommodations were quite good and well located, but the Dublin Hotel had a tub-shower arrangement that was unsafe for the age and mobility of some of the tour participants.  

I had a wonderful time, great food, great people, fun times & some entertaining shows. I would recommend this travel group to everyone.

We had a great time: great food, accommodations, and tours. Everything was flawless. Even the weather was good.

I had a great time. Loved our hotels especially the Fitzwilliam. Tour guides were wonderful to us especially Sean. Food was great. All the guest got along and that makes a nice trip. The people of Irelkand were so gracious to us. And on my trip out to Kew I met many Londoners so willing to help a Californian. The tube was a new experience but it is simple to travel on it. I liked some of the musicals. The side excursions are so important to learning and experiencing another country. Being a garden lover the Powescourt Estate was brilliant. You took us to the 3rd most beautiful garden in the world.

I had a great time. Great food, although I didn't expect such large portions. Tours and tour guides were first rate. loved the shows. Would definitely do it again.

Very well organized, consistently kept us informed regarding changes & expected weather. Displayed a lot of concern for all members & took care for those with mobility problems. Restaurants were fun & versatile, excursions GREAT.  Plays = wonderful.
Lack of drawers & tiny closets was frustrating.  Terrible lighting & no mirrors was irksome. 
Dublin - The step in (tub up to my knees at least) shower was challenging.  I heard MANY commenting on their worries getting & OUT.  Our room was a far as could be from elevators --- might be good to assign those rooms to younger travelers. 
By far the worst thing was the last leg of our flight home.....Washington DC to LAX was horrible -- terrible - awful. Gave new meaning to economy. I told others I was surprised their weren't ropes attached to the outside of the plane & we were told to HOLD ON.  Excruciatingly uncomfortable.  Flight over was WONDERFUL - flight from Dublin to Wash DC, just fine, but that last flight was unbelievably bad. Absolutely miserable.  
The trip was GREAT & my hat is off to Alex & Breakaway EXCEPT for that GHASTLY final flight. 

Comprehensive trip to London and Dublin.  All details of hotels, sightseeing, entertainment, and transportation were taken care of.  Guides were very knowledgeable.  A bit more walking than I expected considering the average age of the participants.  With one guide in Dublin, we had to tell her to slow because we were losing radio contact and the tail end of the group.  Food was fantastic.  Walking tour of the music origins of London and Chinatown spent too much time on the former and insufficient time on the latter.  Almost no time was spent on the history of Chinatown.  Would recommend but perhaps with a little less walking and slower pace.  Also either present more history on Chinatown and less time music history or revise the title of the walking tour.

We had many great experiences in London and Dublin.  The accommodations were good as was the food. The descriptions of the walking tours on the last days in London were not clear and lacked focus to me.  The final show in Dublin was amateurish and not up to MTW standards.

One of the most amazing trips I've been on, in 20 years of many  organized tours to several continents. The theater choices, the day trips added up to really enhance my understanding of British and Irish history and culture. The restaurants were all exceptional. The Park Plaza hotel was great. The FitzWilliams less so due to high and dangerous bathtubs. Very difficult for older people to get into. Also we were 100s of fee from our lifts. The local tour guides were great. And the presence of Alex and Paul added greatly to helping all of us feel united and safe. One of my favorite travel experiences ever.

It was well planned. Great breakfasts, excellent guides, wonderful shows and dinners. 

I had such a great trip in Dublin‼️
The Fitzwilliam Hotel was lovely. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast Buffett was excellent.  Our various tours were special and our guide Joe was the best! 
Everyday was an adventure. Our dinners were absolutely superb.  The evening shows were entertaining and fun. 
In London we had great shows, dinners and tours. Our guides Sean, Anne and others were so knowledgeable and entertaining❣️
I’ll travel with Breakaway Tours again and again‼️ I loved every minute!

It was a wonderful trip. The weather cooperated we saw some very different shows visited fantastic Restaurants.  We learned more about London and Dublin than I had known before though I visited them before.  Extremely accommodating to all our needs. Gotta give it a five star. Alex and Paul did a fantastic job and I look forward to joining them again someday soon.
